How we collect, use and protect your information at EnginPath.
EnginPath ("EnginPath", "we", "us", "our") is a career-guidance platform for engineering students, operated from India and accessible at enginpath.com. We publish career roadmaps, project guides, resume templates and role information across engineering disciplines, and we connect students with mentors.
For any privacy question you can reach us at contact@enginpath.com.
We deliberately keep data collection to a minimum. You can browse almost all of EnginPath — career roles, roadmaps, project guides and resume templates — without giving us any personal information and without creating an account.
| When you… | We may collect |
|---|---|
| Apply to become a mentor (via our application form) |
Name, email address, phone number, current role and company, engineering domain, years of experience, LinkedIn/portfolio links, a short bio, availability, indicative rate, and optionally a profile photo. |
| Email us | Your email address, your name if you provide it, and the content of your message. |
| Book a mentoring session | Bookings are handled on our mentors' external booking platforms. We do not collect or store your payment details — see section 6. |
Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page and the pages you view, along with the date and time. This is standard server-log data used for security, diagnostics and to keep the site working.
To be explicit, EnginPath does not:
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (which you give by voluntarily submitting a form or emailing us, and which you can withdraw at any time); the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (for example, reviewing your mentor application); our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving the platform; and legal obligation where applicable. In India, we process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 on the basis of your consent and for the legitimate uses described above.
We use a small number of trusted third-party providers. When you interact with them, their own privacy policies apply in addition to ours.
| Provider | Purpose | What they may receive |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger | Website hosting and email | Server-log data, and any data stored on our site |
| Zoho Forms | Mentor application form | The details you enter in the application form |
| Topmate (and similar booking platforms) | Mentor session booking and payment | Your name, email, session details and payment information — handled entirely by them |
| Payment processors (e.g. Razorpay, Stripe, via the booking platform) | Processing session payments | Payment and billing details. EnginPath never sees or stores your card details. |
| Video-meeting providers (e.g. Google Meet) | Hosting mentoring sessions | Your name/email as a meeting participant |
Our website also links to external websites — for example company careers pages, learning resources, and our mentors' booking pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
EnginPath does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party ad networks. Some essential or functional cookies may be set by our hosting provider or by embedded third-party services (such as a booking page you open). Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time; the informational parts of EnginPath will continue to work normally if you do.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@enginpath.com with your request. We will respond within a reasonable period, and in any case within the time limits required by applicable law. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act.
We serve the site over encrypted HTTPS, keep administrative access password-protected and limited to authorised people, and store form submissions with reputable providers. Please note that no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some of our providers may process or store data outside your country. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy.
EnginPath is intended for engineering students and professionals, and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Users under 18 should review this policy with a parent or guardian.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if we add new features or change providers. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use EnginPath after an update means you accept the revised policy.
