Which engineering branch should you choose?

An honest guide to what each branch actually involves — written for students who haven't started engineering yet. No hype, no "scope" talk, just what the work is really like and who it suits.

Why this page exists. Most students choose their engineering branch having never seen a single day of that work. They pick based on cut-offs, what relatives suggest, or which branch friends are taking — and a lot of them realise in second year that they'd have chosen differently.

This page tries to fix that. For each branch you'll find what you'll actually study, what the day-to-day work looks like, who it suits and who it doesn't, the myths people repeat, and an honest note about the downsides — because every branch has some.

One thing before you read on: there is no "best branch". There is only the branch that fits how you like to think and work. A motivated student does well in any branch; an uninterested one struggles even in the most popular one.
